Am I applying Halal cosmetics?

Many cosmetic companies are putting an ad on TV, newspaper, SNS(Social Network Service) claiming that their products are of the best quality with natural plant ingredients and miraculous effectiveness.

Ingredients used for cosmetics are much more important to those vegetarians and who have the religion of islam. Muslims not only eat non-halal food, but also they don't apply non-halal cosmetics which contain any ingredients of animal origin.

Last year in China, there was a fever of cosmetics containing horse oil which became very famous for skin care through word-of-mouth. Much to our regret, animal origin ingredients used in manufacturing cosmetics are not mostly halal because animals are not slaughtered in halal way.

Limiting this issue to Korea, I admit that there are some products with animal origin ingredients, but most of Korean cosmetic companies, preparablely, are using natural plant ingredients, appealing to customers who are more concerned about natural things.

Muslims, anyway, should check their cosmetics whether they contain any ingredients of animal origin or not before use. Usually, animal origin ingredients used in manufacturing cosmetics are pork collagen, pork placenta, horese oil..

I hope, someday in the future, cosmetic companies use only halal ingredients so muslims don't need to worry about their ingredients. To make it come true ealier, muslims need to encourage each other to use halal products as well as we ourselves should be more interested in them.
